Game in the City- November 18 th and 19th
November 18th and 19th sees the return of the successful Game in the City event for the third year running and this year the theme is r/evolution.This means that we will be focusing on both ‘break through’ innovations and embedding new technologies into existing markets. The iPhone gave rise to arevolutionary new look at mobile communication and both consumers and creativecompanies alike are benefiting from the evolution from iTunes to the Appstore.
On the November 18th Game in the City 2010 will be showcasing developments in mobile design and marketing and we invite you to come and not only enjoy the experience but also to interact on our marketplace, to discover the building blocks for a new business model and find your place in a new interactive world!
This year we are hosting the Third edition of the Dutch Game Awards, the annual business awards for the Dutch Game Industry. On November 18th the Awards will be presented at the Awards Dinner organized in collaboration with Control Magazine. This year the Dutch Game Awards has it’s own website to facilitate all registrations, nominees and winners: www.dutchgameawards.nl
November 19th will be a day of masterclasses and hands-on workshops. Students and industry professionals alike are invited to share their knowledge in an informal setting.
The Dutch Game Awards 2010
The Dutch Game Awards is a showcase of the Achievements of the Dutch Game Industry, highlighting both the quality and quantity of games produced inthe Netherlands. The entertainment and causal game industry achieved in 2008 aworldwide turnover of $ 51.4 billion Dollar. Despite the economic crisis expectation are that within the next five years this industry will increase with 7,4 % per year to a turn over of $ 73,5 billion Dollar in 2013.
During the event Game in the City on November 18 and 19 in Amersfoort the Third edition of the Dutch Game Awards will be awarded. The purpose of the Awards is to spotlight the achievements of the Dutch Game industry and to promote The Netherlands as a Game development country to the world.
This year there will not only be 10 Dutch Awards along with the control Award but a number of Awards to European Companies will also be presented.
